These Italian crystal chairs are meticulously crafted with great attention to detail. They also have plastic feet on the leg bottoms to prevent my hardwood floors from scratching...that was the main reason I purchased these chairs. The chairs are manufactured from high quality acrylic and I hope that they don't start yellowing after 5 years...I have some bar stools that are also clear, but have started to slightly change color (not Italian made). The only drawback is that when guests come over and have metal on their jeans from back pockets or cargo zippers, the chairs will scratch (you have to inspect them very closely to see them). Also, they do leave fingerprints so you just have to wipe them down after having a dinner party. When it's just my husband and my teenage sons, I don't wipe them down but once a week (if you have little kids, I highly discourage these chairs unless you want to clean them daily). Overall, I feel like I made a great purchase and the chairs are just beautiful! It was worth the wait...I literally received the chairs 2 months after the purchase date because they were still in production in Italy. They are absolutely stunning!
